Eco Resources

ECO Resources, Perth’s Premier C&D Recycling Business

ECO provides a broad range of services, each in some way intrinsically linked and forming part of our total integrated environmental solutions.

100% West Australian owned and operated, ECO Resources is Perth’s premier construction and demolition waste recovery and recycling facility. Boasting some of the State’s highest landfill diversion rates and producing quality by products used by many industries and companies.

Customers and prospective customers alike are often surprised to learn where our recovered products turn up. Many households, construction sites, land development and major government municipal projects include products that contain ECO recovered and recycled construction waste

ECO provides an environmentally and economically sustainable outlet for many of Perth’s large and small waste management and skip bin operators, for waste that would otherwise go straight to landfill. ECO strives to provide a zero-waste solution today, not tomorrow and aims to prove that being green IS all that it’s cracked up to be. Just let us show you how;

Eco Resources divert thousands of cubic metres of waste destined for landfill every day. We currently recycle more than 90% of all waste delivered to our facility and are constantly increasing recovery rates at our sites through improved methods and technologies. However, our story doesn’t end there, the remaining 10% of unsalvageable waste is further shredded to reduce in size before transporting to an appropriate landfill site. By going this extra step, we increase waste compaction rates by more than 26%, further reducing our reliance on landfill. ECO’s subsidiary company Premium Waste Management (Waroona Landfill) receives all inert residual waste and further isolates recoverable items ensuring maximum compaction rates and minimal airspace usage is achieved.

ECO Resources Transfer Station & Recycling Facility

ECO’s Hope Valley/Kwinana waste recovery and transfer facility is strategically located to accept waste from right across the Perth metropolitan and surrounding areas. Regarded as Perth’s leading multi-user construction and demolition waste recovery and recycling facility, ECO services a growing number of Western Australia’s large and small waste collection companies.

Industry today is throwing up many challenges and ECO is meeting the challenge by promoting an integrated approach to waste management, one which draws on synergies from within and those of strategic partners. With their assistance, we aim to establish ‘resource management partnerships’ which will offer our clients collective expertise on recycling opportunities, cleaner production, best practice, ‘state of the art’ technologies, environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance.

ECO’s facility currently accepts and recycles the following basic waste streams:

  • Bricks, concrete, sand, tiles and other construction / demolition waste
  • Tyres of all shapes and sizes
  • Mattresses
  • Timber, MDF, cardboard, plastics, strapping
  • Metals of any type
  • Bulky furniture and white goods
  • Green waste, treated timber, Gyprock & Plasterboard
  • Polystyrene, PVC piping, insulations & tubing

Investment in Waste Recovery & Sorting Facilities

Key to ECO’s continuous growth is its ongoing investment in automation and productivity improvements. The ECO team soon discovered that smaller businesses can compete with large businesses by being swifter, more agile, and responding to change faster. New technology improves operational efficiency, decreases human error and ultimately improves safety.

ECO’s investment in new technology and systems is geared to;

  • Improving interaction with customersECO is committed to focusing on the customer experience, from the point of order to final outcome of service provision
  • Improving speed – Investment in technology improves speed, automation reduces manual and labour-intensive work, simplifies tasks and processes.

ECO North Carabooda (Perth North West / North East)

To support the companies growing metropolitan footprint, ECO has recently launched a brand new transfer and recovery facility, ECO North at Carabooda in the northern corridor. This facility has been designed with two key outcomes in mind both of which further demonstrate ECO’s commitment to exceeding customer expectations and further enhancing the companies integrated environmental profile.

ECO’s Carabooda facility now offers waste operators and construction companies a viable alternative to transport of waste to ECO’s Hope Valley facility whilst still enjoying the economic and environmental benefits of having waste recycled through the ECO system.

The Carabooda facility provides a local alternative for builders and waste companies operating in Perth’s northern corridor. Waste is simply dropped off at our Carabooda facility where it goes through an initial sorting and segregation process before being transported via road train to ECO’s main recycling facility at Hope Valley, Kwinana

ECO’s Carabooda facility will significantly reduce travel requirements for all customers and access to our in-house bulk transport operation means that waste can be shipped to ECO’s recycling centre in 36-55 tonne loads instead of single skip trips, further reducing traffic, transport risk, fuel use and CO2 emissions.

ECO’s commitment to solution finding and integration of services is well represented by its Carabooda operations. The waste handling approach adopted by ECO through its Carabooda transfer facility extends beyond a simple drop, sort and transport operation.

Waste received at ECO’s Carabooda transfer facility is transported to the Hope Valley recycling centre where it is sorted through our state of the art picking facility, segregated into various recyclable streams, and then further crushed and cleaned into 14mm aggregate and either transferred to local our local partners for use in ECO Blocks or returned via road train to our Carabooda facility where is it reused in manufacture of limestone and secondary building blocks.

This reuse of waste materials and use of otherwise empty road transport demonstrates ECO’s waste management analysis and ability to create circular handling processes eliminating waste in logistics and reducing landfill requirements.

The following photo shows the recovery and reuse process from arrival at ECO’s facility in Hope Valley to point of sale as ECO Blocks through collaboration with our partner businesses and limestone quarries.
